A stadium or a new waterway? Leaders present competing visions for site in west downtown San Antonio

July 1, 2022 By Richard Webner Leave a Comment

December 2, 2021 By Ben Olivo 77 Comments

Olivo: Lone Star Brewery’s $24M incentive deal needed more critical analysis

May 23, 2021 By Ben Olivo 1 Comment

The former Lone Star Brewery is eyed for redevelopment by Midway and GrayStreet Partners.

Any concerns about the sheer size of the Lone Star’s $24 million incentive deal, or over the potential displacement of nearby residents, were outweighed by the fact that someone is finally breathing new life into these ghostly industrial shells after 25 years.

Pandemic derails GrayStreet Partner’s plans for Broadway East, delays W Hotel

February 7, 2021 By Richard Webner 9 Comments

This commercial building on Broadway across from the Pearl was to be part of GrayStreet Partners' Broadway East development.

GrayStreet’s Broadway East urban community derailed. W Hotel on hold. The Light building rehab lags behind schedule. That’s just GrayStreet’s projects on Broadway. The Covid pandemic has stymied many of the local developer’s downtown projects.
