Granada Homes’ $63M renovation set to begin this month under new partnership

A $63 million project to rehabilitate the historic Granada Homes senior apartment tower is set to begin this month under a new partnership that no longer includes the San Antonio Housing Authority.

Granada Homes restoration takes building back to original 1928 days

The $51 million renovation of the Granada Homes building on South St. Mary’s and Villita streets includes restoring the common areas to look almost exactly as they did when the building opened in 1928 as the Plaza Hotel.

With no water or heat, seniors living at Granada Apartments went into survival mode

For most of the week, the Granada Homes’ elderly residents had no water or heat. As of Saturday morning, things are starting to return to normal.
