Public invited to Alazan Courts design workshop

The San Antonio Housing Authority is hosting a design workshop for the Alazan Courts redevelopment on the near West Side, San Antonio’s oldest public housing community that could be demolished and rebuilt, or refurnished.

UPDATED: St. John’s Square project moving forward despite SAHA’s exit

St. John's Square is an eight-story, 250-unit development being proposed for the southeast corner of East Nueva and South St. Mary's streets by Austin developer Dennis McDaniel and the San Antonio Housing Authority.

An Austin developer and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church are moving forward with plans to build St. John’s Square, a 253-unit apartment building near La Villita, despite the San Antonio Housing Authority backing away from the project.

SAHA sees end in sight for Victoria Commons development in Lavaca

The last phases of the Victoria Commons master planned community in the Lavaca neighborhood south of downtown could be built on these vacant pieces of land.

Last month, the San Antonio Housing Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with homeowners on Leigh Street who had opposed two apartment buildings planned on vacant land facing Interstate 37 due to concerns about traffic and drainage.

In an effort to allay concerns of Lavaca residents, the San Antonio Housing Authority has greatly reduced the density of housing at its Victoria Commons master community from a plan it proposed last year.

Construction begins on Labor Street mixed-income apartments in Lavaca
