Rental, mortgage aid totaling $10M to become available in San Antonio in April

Development has increased around San Antonio’s Government Hill neighborhood over the last few years, resulting in modern out of place seeming homes and condos next to historic family residences as seen on Dec. 30, 2021.

The city of San Antonio is preparing to revive a program that has helped thousands of San Antonians pay their rent or mortgage, utility bills and other living expenses.

Eviction filings in Bexar County have yet to spike one month after moratorium ending

The feared spike in eviction filings due to the end of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention moratorium has yet to take shape, at least in Bexar County, local records show. Some say it’s too early to tell whether filings will skyrocket.

With the CDC eviction moratorium coming to an end on July 31, San Antonio’s Emergency Housing Assistance Program will continue to accept applications for rental and utility assistance.
