The Tower Life Building’s new owners want to convert the long-time office building into 234 apartments with 10,000 square feet of restaurant space each on the ground and river levels.

The former National Grocery Company building at 421 N. Medina St. in west downtown was recently purchased by Sabot Development of Austin.

Sabot Development of Austin is setting its sights on the Cattleman Square area on San Antonio’s near West Side—one of the most blighted areas of the urban core.

This lot next to the Milam building and Weston Centre could be a 32-story apartment tower by Weston Urban.

The local developer’s proposed 32-story tower will be the tallest residential building downtown by a long shot, bringing a style of high-rise urban living that most major cities can offer, but San Antonio cannot.
