How businesses can support the Heron

For six months, the San Antonio Heron, a nonprofit news organization, has been 100 percent reader supported. We’re now reaching out to businesses.

The Heron is offering sponsorship opportunities to businesses looking to promote their goods, services or message to our growing number of readers.

Contact Heron Account Manager Cassandra Rushing at cassandra@saheron.com or 210-709-3469, and she’ll go over the options in detail. Here’s a summary of the sponsorship tiers (we’ll come up with more inventive names later):

$250 – Silver Sponsor

Please know that sponsorships, while they are appreciated and necessary for a small nonprofit such as the Heron, will have no influence on deciding which stories the Heron covers, nor on how we cover them.

Note to our reader donors: Probably some time in January, we will move to a membership system. Don’t worry, all of our stories will continue to be free. Our Sunday newsletter will continue to be free. However, the chisme-y, behind-the-scenes newsletter that’s distributed on Wednesdays, Around the Plaza, will only be available to readers who contribute a minimum of $5 a month. Other perks will be announced later.

To become a Heron supporter, visit patreon.com/saheron or go to PayPal—the amount is totally up to you, and you can cancel at any time.
