The San Antonio Heron and Freetail Brewing Co. are teaming up for a beer tasting event this Thursday in support of local journalism—and also just in time for their kitchen to open.
The Benefit Beer Tasting @Freetail supports the Heron and our content focussed on downtown growth and neighborhood change during our NewsMatch campaign, which ends Dec. 31.
Each ticket includes an exclusive guided beer tasting inside the Freetail brewing room with Brewing Manager Jason Davis. Here are the details:

Each guest will receive a flight of Freetail beer (4 specially-selected 5.5 oz. flight glasses) PLUS a fifth surprise pour from the cellar. You’ll also receive a Heron-Freetail goodie bag (including a shirt!).
Tickets are $30.
Those who buy a ticket are automatically entered into a raffle, which features a Freetail Mug Club membership, among other prizes. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased on-site for $10.
NewsMatch will match every ticket sold for this event.
NewsMatch is a national matching-gift campaign to grow fundraising capacity in nonprofit newsrooms (like the Heron!) and promote giving to journalism among U.S. donors. It is supported through an open collaborative fund at The Miami Foundation and offers a simple, turnkey platform for foundations of all sizes to support quality news.
